Dr. Veeral Oza Supports Training in Global Health

Veeral Oza

Dr. Veeral Oza (Res'12) earned his Medical Degree from Rush University College of Medicine before joining GWIMRes in 2009. After completing residency, Dr. Oza completed two fellowships, one in gastroenterology at The Ohio State University and a second in advanced endoscopy at Yale University. He currently practices at McLeod Digestive Health Center in South Carolina, where he specializes in the use of advanced endoscopic techniques. Dr. Oza maintains an interest in global health and believes in the importance of exposure to healthcare in low resource settings overseas during residency training.

Despite high interest in global health training, our residents commonly cite cost as a leading barrier to performing overseas rotations. This year, Dr. Veeral Oza (Res'12) will sponsor a resident to perform a one-month overseas rotation. Applications are currently under review to select an awardee. GWIMRes thanks Dr. Oza for his generous support!
